RIP to a Movie Hero
There was sad news over the weekend as we heard that actor and all-round legend Bill Paxton had passed away.
You don’t need to be a film buff to know the legacy that Paxton had on the world of cinema and his face can be seen in some of the biggest Hollywood movies ever screened. He started his career back in the 70s, but it wasn’t until the 80s that he began getting into bigger films, such as ‘Terminator’, ‘Aliens’, ‘Weird Science’ and ‘Commando’.
During the 90s, he played roles in titles such as ‘Predator 2’, ‘True Lies’, ‘Apollo 13’ and ‘Titanic’ – one of the mot successful films ever produced. The noughties and onwards saw him in a number of movies, with ‘Edge of Tomorrow’ being my personal favourite.
Whilst he only ever received two awards – a Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor in ‘Aliens’ and a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture in ‘Apollo 13’ – Paxton’s legacy will never be forgotten.
RIP
