Christmas Cheer?
During a recent trip back to the UK to help celebrate Bonfire Night with my family, I was actually quite shocked by just how much Christmas was being celebrated already.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not one of these folk who say we should only enjoy Christmas on the official day, in fact I love the build up to the big event just as much as the day itself. But shops pumping out Christmas songs, and adverts on TV in October? Come on, that’s just not acceptable in my book.
I’ve always enjoyed Christmas in Poland (except for having to eat carp) and I think it’s great seeing how different cultures celebrate things. Next year I’m actually planning on choosing a country I’ve never visited before (perhaps Portugal or Denmark) and seeing just how they do things there. I have friends living there, so it would be easy enough to set up.
So we’d like to hear from you. Have you ever spent Christmas in a foreign country and what was it like? How did it differ from Poland. Send us your thoughts please.
